This studio features a Mackie Control Surface, Kurzweil K2500X synthesizer, a 5.1 surround sound setup with Dynaudio nearfield monitors and a Tannoy subwoofer, a 30" Cinema Display, a Mackie CR-1604 mixer, and a Power Mac G5 Quad (2.5 GHz) with 2 GB of RAM, and a terabyte of storage space. Digital Performer is our primary software for multitrack recording, while a variety of other programs are also used including PEAK, Reason, Unisyn, Supercollider3, Max/MSP/Jitter, SPEAR, SoundHack, Final Cut Pro, etc.
In addition to its more modern features, the Electronic and Digital Music Studio features a host of vintage synthesizers from the 1970's and 1980's. These include a set of Electronic Music Laboratory Synthesizers, the EML 101, EML 200, EML 400/401 (sequencer/synth), and the EML 300 (controller). The studio also features a Moog Prodigy synthesizer, a DX-7, a rack of Yamaha TX-816 synthesizers. 1990's synthesizers are also available in the form of a Yamaha SY-85 keyboard and a Kurzweil K2000 syntheziser.
The Electronic and Digital Music Studio offers a number of microphones. These include a Neumann SK184 Stereo Microphone pair, AKG C-3000B stereo microphone pair, Shure SM57 microphone, Sennheiser 421 II, etc.
